May Camporee 2022

We are blessed to have Pastor Doug Bachelor and his beloved wife as our main guests for the most awaited event in the Irish Mission, May Camporee 2022.

Portlick Scouts Center, Athlone, is going to be our house for the weekend 29th of April – 2nd of May. 

A bus will be organized for Adventurers and Pathfinders coming from Belfast all the way to Dublin with a few pick-up points. 

 

Main Event

The campsite is going to be open from Friday morning for any camper who has the possibility to pitch his tent/s in daylight. The programme will officially start at 8 pm with the opening ceremony and a short devotional to open the Sabbath. The full programme will be available for download from this page, so check it out from time to time.

After two years of restrictions, we invite you for a real experience weekend with great challenges and a very special guest, Pastor Doug Batchelor, and his lovely wife Karen.

The following tickets are available for May Camporee:

Pathfinder Ticket – 60€

Adventurer Ticket – 60€

Adult with Activities – 60€

Adult Without Activities – 30€

Day Ticket – 20€

The BUS TICKET is going to be available only if we manage to get the right number to fill in at least 50% of the seats and the pickup points are:

1. Belfast – to be confirmed

2. Apple Green – on M1

3. Liffey Valley – Bus Stop on N4 (to avoid the traffic jam in the Blanchardstown area)

4. Portlick Scouts Campsite

The parents who are booking the bus tickets will be contacted to agree on the best time option. The Open Ceremony is going to start at 8 pm sharp and the recommendation is to be there on time

What to bring?

Please make sure that you are prepared for camping. There is no bad weather, just bad equipment!

  1. Tents – at least 3000 tick
  2. Winter sleeping bag ( 4 seasons)
  3. Hicking boots – water-resistant
  4. Rain Jacket and rain trousers

5. Food – don’t forget to bring food with you for 3 days

6. Flashlight

7. Mattress

 

VERY IMPORTANT: A pathfinder or adventurer without his/her scarf is not an adventurer/pathfinder. It is REQUIRED to wear your scarf at all times during the camp. If you are not going to wear the scarf, your club will lose valuable points.
